Sharon Wherland is a violin teacher, artist, and my stepmom. While her work doesn’t directly deal with environmentalism, she has found many ways to stay engaged outside of work. I think she’s a good example of an average person that takes extra steps to live a lower impact lifestyle.
I learned a bit more than I previously knew about how she views the environmental crisis and why she chooses to engage in a less direct way. I admire the things she does for the sake of the environment. I’m not really in a place to judge her activity, but I do think she’s doing the best she can while attending to her emotional health and well-being.
The picture I used as the featured image is of a patch of the front yard that Sharon and my dad converted into a garden for edible plants.
